Dr. Jenna Dorman, DVM
Dr. Dorman received her DVM from Auburn University. Her interests include soft tissue surgery and diagnostic imaging. Dr. Dorman prides herself in her attentiveness and empathy towards patients and their owners so that she can provide the best possible care. When not caring for pets, Dr. Dorman enjoys rock climbing, hiking, trips to the beach with her husky mix, Kai, and reading. She can also be found snuggling up with her three cats – Elsa, Simba, and Sasha. A fun fact about Dr. Dorman is she has been to all 50 states! She looks forward to meeting you and caring for your pets!
Dr. Brad A. Pope, DVM
Dr. Brad Pope graduated from Colorado State University in 1980. His primary interests are in surgery and preventative health care. In 1988 he purchased Bayshore Animal Hospital which became an AAHA accredited in 2001. He designed and built the new 4000 square foot hospital that opened in fall of 2010.
Dr. Pope is a member of the Oregon Veterinary Medical Association, The American Veterinary Medical Association, The OVMA’s Animal Welfare Council, and the American Animal Hospital Association. He works with the Wildlife Center of the North Coast, is on the Clatsop County Animal Shelter Administration Committee and the Spay and Neuter Association of Clatsop County.
In March of 2002, Dr. Pope was awarded the Oregon Medical Associations Animal Welfare Award. This award is given to an Oregon Veterinarian who has displayed “outstanding professionalism, compassion, and dedication to animal welfare”.
Dr. Pope lives on a small farm with his wife, two daughters and many animals. In his spare time, he enjoys running and fly fishing.
Dr. Sheila Kragerud, DVM
Dr. Sheila Kragerud [Formerly Kilponen] earned her DVM degree from Washington State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 2001. In 1998 she completed her Bachelor’s degree from WSU’s Honors College. Dr. K is a member of OVMA, AAHA, and AVMA and holds a current Oregon State License and USDA accreditation.
Dr. K joined Bayshore Animal Hospital in 2002 and has since become co-owner in the practice. Her primary areas of interest include internal medicine, soft tissue surgery and dermatology. Coming back to her Finnish roots, she resides back in her hometown of Naselle, Washington and enjoys spending time with her family, camping and cooking.
Dr. Kelly D'Orazio, DVM
Dr. Kelly D’Orazio earned a BS in Biology/Cardiovascular Science at Geneva College in 1991 and worked in human medicine for the next ten years. She returned to college and recieved a MS in Biology/Animal Behavior from Sam Houston State University in 2004 and completed her DVM degree at Texas A&M in 2007. Upon gradutating, Dr. D’Orazio spent 11 years practiing in Arizona at VCA Apache Junction Animal Hospital. Ready for a change in climate and scenery, she relocated to Washington and started at Bayshore Animal Hospital in 2018. Her medical interests include feline medicine and behavior. Time spent away from work most often includes gardening, landscaping and enjoying the outdoors.

Kate, Practice Manager
Kate is our Practice Manager. She attended Ohio State University in 2004 and recently received a Certificate of Achievement from Colorado State University Veterinary Management Institute in November of 2016. As our Practice Manager, her responsibilities include assisting the doctors, managing lab work, employee scheduling, assisting and educating our clients, and answering any of their questions or concerns. She has worked in the Veterinary field for fifteen plus years from assisting to a Technician role and now into the Management field. In her spare time, she loves to spend time with her husband Anthony and their son Patrick. She shares her home with 4 felines, Chad, Roger, Luna, Cisco, and Joe Purrow. She also shares her home with her loveable tank of a dog, Sherman.
Mandy, Lead Certified Veterinary Technician
Mandy’s passion lies in client education, ensuring pet owners understand how to provide the best care for their furry friends. She takes pride in offering comfort and support to older and painful pets, making their final moments as peaceful as possible during the euthanasia process.
When she’s not caring for animals, Mandy unleashes her creativity by writing books and indulges in outdoor adventures, such as hiking and exploring nature. Her artistic side shines through as she enjoys drawing maps. And of course, you can always find her with a piece of bubblegum to keep things fun and lighthearted.
Dany, Certified Veterinary Technician
Mary, Certified Veterinary Technician
Mary is one of our Certified Veterinary Technicians. She has been working in the veterinary field for over 20 years and received her CVT license in 1995. She was born outside of Chicago and had lived in California before moving to Oregon in 1994. She enjoys working with clients and their pets and has a particular interest in surgery. When outside the workplace she enjoys reading, hiking, and camping along the coast.
Makani, Veterinary Technician
Outside the clinic, Makani loves exploring the world through travel, embracing new cultures and experiences. When she’s not on an adventure, she cherishes the precious moments spent with her family, which includes both two-legged and four-legged members.

Emily finds joy in spending quality time with her loved ones, including her family, friends, and cherished pets.
Emma, Veterinary Assistant
Meet Emma, a compassionate and skilled assistant with 1 1/2 years of experience in the field. Her primary focus is ensuring that each patient’s visit is a positive and comfortable experience, delivering the best care within her capabilities.
During her leisure time, Emma finds solace in the world of books, immersing herself in captivating stories and new knowledge. Video games provide her with an exciting escape, embracing thrilling virtual adventures. However, her true joy lies in the company of her beloved dogs, spending quality time with them and creating cherished memories.
Cissy, Veterinary Assistant
Cissy, is a dedicated assistant on her path to obtaining her license at San Juan College. She takes great pride in her work, always striving to create positive experiences for her clients and patients alike.
During her downtime, Cissy explores her creative side through various hobbies like playing music, painting, and embroidery allowing her to express herself artistically. And when it’s time for some entertainment, you can find her immersed in the world of video games.
Madison, Veterinary Assistant
Madison’s unwavering dedication to her beliefs and principles ensures that she consistently delivers top-notch care and medicine, making sure every patient receives the utmost attention and compassion. Her ability to stay calm and maintain a positive outlook proves invaluable in the demanding nature of her work.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Madison finds joy in various activities. Camping allows her to reconnect with nature and unwind from the daily routine. She values her time at the gym, prioritizing her health and well-being. Napping with her furry friends—three cats and her dogs—provides a comforting and loving respite. Additionally, Madison’s second job at the Animal Shelter showcases her deep passion for animal welfare and community involvement.
Kathleen, Veterinary Assistant
Meet Kathleen; she is a seasoned Veterinary Assistant with over ten years of experience in veterinary medicine. With a deep passion for patient care and unwavering devotion to her work, she strives to bring comfort and ease to all the animals under her care.
Kathleen’s dedication to creating a stress-free environment for her patients is evident in every interaction. Her nurturing and empathetic approach helps pets feel at ease, making their time at the clinic as pleasant as possible.
When she’s not at the clinic, Kathleen embraces her curiosity for the natural world by identifying insects, appreciating their uniqueness and beauty. On a different note, she finds joy in playing the drums!
Akasha, Veterinary Assistant
Beyond her work in the veterinary field, Akasha finds joy in the great outdoors, exploring nature and engaging in various outdoor activities. Her love for music shines through as she shares her beautiful singing voice on her own YouTube channel, spreading joy and positivity through her melodious tunes. Akasha’s commitment to her patients and her creative pursuits make her a well-rounded and delightful individual.

Lindsey, Veterinary Assistant
Lindsey was born and raised in Michigan, surrounded by nature and a menagerie of animals. She got her Bachelors Degree in Conversation Biology at Ferris State University. For five years after completing her degree, she worked on a variety of bird studies and a project breeding endangered birds in Hawaii. She has worked in animal welfare, nonprofit management, and hospitality as well. Lindsey joined our team in July 2020. Her hobbies include gardening, birding, adventuring outdoors, and baking. Locally she has volunteered and worked with the Wildlife Center of the North Coast. She lives in Astoria with her partner, Colin, and their two kitties Jessamine, and Aurora.
